Zohar Elkayam

My Name is Zohar Elkayam, I’m 37, married to Efrat, and father to Tamar and Ido.
I live in Shoham, Israel.

  • I’m an Oracle DBA since 1998 – both on the application and infrastructure sides. I’ve been a senior consultant since 2007, and a team leader since 2009.
    My specialties are Oracle database core technologies, database administration, tuning, database development, high availability solution and various DRP solutions.
  • I’m a MySQL DBA, and very knowledgeable about various NoSQL solutions.
  • I’m also a Big Data expert for Hadoop and Spark (even though I don’t blog about them that much).
  • In my current position I am the CTO for Brillix – a leading data platform consultancy company based in Israel. I’m also the COO for DBAces.com which provide remote database services worldwide and database training courses.
  • In my previous roles, I was the service director for database and BI in Glasshouse where I lead a team of over 20 Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL consultants.
    I was also part of a team managing data warehouse of over 80TB, and a database/software developer for a startup company.
  • I’m a proud member of Israel Oracle User Group as a volunteer and meetups organizer.
  • I am a public speaker in Oracle and Big Data related events, user groups, and SIGs: OOW, IOUG, ODTUG, UKOUG, DOAG, BGOUG, HrOUG, to name a few.
  • I was the technical editor for the book “Advanced SQL Query Techniques” by Amiel Davis (published in Hebrew) which was released in 2011.
  • I am an official  trainer for the Oracle University in database related core-technologies (SQL, PL/SQL and various administration courses).

In 2014, I was recognized for my contribution to the Oracle community, and was awarded Oracle ACE Associate by the Oracle ACE Program.
